Jurnal Absis: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika dan Matematika accepts scholarly manuscripts in mathematics and mathematics education. This page describes the manuscript types considered by the journal and the scholarly contributions expected of each type.
1. Original Research Articles
Original Research Articles report original findings from a clearly defined research problem. They should use an appropriate research method or analytical framework, present findings accurately, and explain their contribution to mathematics or mathematics education.
Relevant research approaches may include:
- Quantitative research, including experimental, quasi-experimental, survey, and correlational studies.
- Qualitative research, including case studies, ethnographic research, and other suitable approaches.
- Mixed-methods research.
- Research and Development (R&D), educational design research, and design-based research.
- Classroom action research and ethnomathematics research.
- Original theoretical or applied mathematical research and other approaches consistent with the journal's scope.
2. Review Articles
Review Articles critically examine and synthesize existing scholarly literature in mathematics or mathematics education. They should address a clearly defined issue, use an appropriate and transparent review approach, and produce a meaningful synthesis rather than a collection of descriptive summaries.
Review approaches may include:
- Systematic Literature Review (SLR): structured identification, appraisal, and synthesis of relevant studies using clearly explained procedures.
- Scoping Review: systematic mapping of available research, key concepts, and knowledge gaps in a defined area.
- Critical Literature Review: critical evaluation and integration of relevant scholarship to develop an informed argument.
- Theoretical or Conceptual Review: synthesis of theories or conceptual frameworks that advances scholarly understanding of a topic.
3. General Requirements
The following requirements apply to both manuscript types:
- The manuscript is original, written in academic English, and aligned with the journal's Focus and Scope.
- The manuscript demonstrates scholarly merit, sound research methods or analysis, and an identifiable contribution.
- The manuscript follows the Author Guidelines and the current Submission Preparation Checklist.
- The manuscript complies with Publication Ethics and applicable editorial policies.
- The manuscript includes the Artificial Intelligence Statement, Author Contribution Statement (CRediT), Funding Statement, and Conflict of Interest Statement, as explained in the Declaration Statements Guidelines.
The current English article template guides authors in preparing the essential manuscript content. Review Article authors may adapt the organization of the main text to the review approach, while retaining the required declarations and submission components. The editorial team prepares the final publication layout.
4. Editorial Consideration
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening for relevance, originality, completeness, and scholarly contribution. Manuscripts that satisfy the preliminary requirements may proceed to peer review. The editorial team determines whether a manuscript is appropriate for the journal and its stated manuscript types.
