Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh faktor intrinsik dan faktor ekstrinsik terhadap niat berwirausaha masyarakat Kota Pasir Pangaraian. Kewirausahaan penting bagi negara berkembang karena dianggap sebagai keterampilan abad kedua puluh satu untuk inovasi, penciptaan lapangan kerja dan pembangunan ekonomi. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan disains penelitian korelasi. Sampel penelitian adalah masyarakat Kota Pasir Pangaraian berjumlah 341 orang. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik random sampling. Instrumen utama dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 24. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktor intrinsik (ingin berkontribusi terhadap masyarakat, kesehatan dan pertumbuhan pribadi), dan faktor ekstrinsik (afiliasi, lebih dikenal, kesuksesan finansial dan penampilan menarik) berpengaruh terhadap niat untuk berwirausaha.
