Tepak Sirih: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Madani is committed to maintaining the originality, integrity, and reliability of the published record. All manuscripts are expected to represent original work and must appropriately acknowledge all ideas, text, data, figures, and other materials derived from external sources.

Plagiarism, including the inappropriate reuse of previously published material, is a violation of publication ethics and may result in rejection, withdrawal, correction, retraction, or other appropriate editorial action.

Similarity Screening

Every submitted manuscript is screened for similarity using Turnitin or iThenticate as part of the initial editorial screening, before it proceeds to peer review. The journal normally expects an overall similarity score of no more than 25%. The similarity percentage is used only as an initial screening indicator and is not, by itself, a determination of plagiarism.

Important
Similarity is not the same as plagiarism. A low score may still conceal plagiarism, while a higher score may reflect legitimate similarity from properly quoted material, references, standard terminology, or methodological descriptions. Editorial assessment considers both the similarity report and the context of the matches.

Editorial Assessment and Actions

Automated screening results are reviewed and interpreted by the editorial team. Where unattributed material is identified, the editor may request revision, clarification, or rejection. If plagiarism is confirmed after publication, the journal may issue a correction or retraction depending on severity. Fabrication or falsification of activities, data, or outcomes is treated as serious misconduct under the journal's Publication Ethics policy and Allegation of Research Misconduct procedure.

Authors are responsible for ensuring originality, accurate citation, and clearly identified quotations, and must not attempt to manipulate similarity-detection systems.
