The Effect of Exclusive Breastfeeding Education on the Knowledge of Postpartum Mothers at the Independent Midwifery Practice of Noni Ruyani, S.Keb. in Intan Jaya Village

Background: The postpartum period is a critical time during which healthcare providers must maintain close monitoring, as inadequate care can lead to various health issues for the mother. Any problems experienced by the mother will impact the well-being of the newborn because the baby will not receive optimal care, namely breast milk. The key factor in breastfeeding is ensuring the baby is positioned correctly, which will influence proper latch-on. This is important for postpartum mothers to learn, with guidance from healthcare workers who are ready to provide the necessary education and information. Objective:
This study aims to determine the effect of providing education on exclusive breastfeeding on the knowledge of postpartum mothers at PMB Noni Ruyani, S. Keb. Method: This is a quantitative study with a pre-experimental design, using a knowledge questionnaire as a pretest and posttest to assess the knowledge of postpartum mothers. The sample in this study consisted of the entire population of 20 postpartum mothers. The sampling technique used was saturation sampling. Data analysis employed univariate and bivariate methods. Research Results: According to the results, the univariate analysis showed a mean knowledge score of 54.00 before the intervention and a mean knowledge score of 71.00 after the intervention. The results of the dependent t-test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: There is an effect of exclusive breastfeeding education on the knowledge of postpartum mothers at the Noni Ruyani, S. Keb, Maternal and Child Health Clinic.
