Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged the transformation of communication services in education, including Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Baiturrahman An-Nizhom Islamic Boarding School faces challenges in delivering student progress information to parents, as communication has primarily relied on face-to-face meetings and unstructured instant messaging applications. This study aims to design and implement a web-based online consultation application as an effective, transparent, and real-time communication platform between the boarding school and students' parents. The system was developed using the Prototype methodology and evaluated through Black-Box Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The application was developed using Next.js as the application framework and Firebase as a centralized database with a role-based access control mechanism to support data security. The results of Black-Box Testing involving 11 test scenarios showed that all system functions operated according to the specified requirements, achieving a 100% success rate. Furthermore, UAT involving 20 respondents and 15 assessment statements produced a score of 1,117 out of a maximum score of 1,200, resulting in a user acceptance rate of 93.08%. These results indicate that the application achieved a very good level of acceptance and can effectively support the reporting of students' Qur'an memorization progress, academic performance, discipline, behavior, and communication between the boarding school and parents. Therefore, the developed application is feasible as a digital solution for improving information transparency and supporting online consultation and continuous student progress monitoring
